Linda McCartney vegetarian beef burrito mix

three stars

A vegan mixture in spite of the name, I do not use this in the way intended. Wrapping hot food in a flap of unleavened bread and then pretending to be cool holds no excitement for me. I use this as an additive to other meals such as sir fried vegetables to give them a little extra flavour instead of adding spices or soy sauce. The included sauce gives a flavour to everything without being visible

Party Time Vegetable Spring Rolls (Lidl)

three stars

A pleasant snack or party food with perhaps more pastry than filling. They cook well in the oven and are nicely seasoned. They do not contain an excess of fat as some party snacks tend to do

Thai Green Vegetable Dippers (Asda)

three stars

A pleasant snack or party food which seems to be one or two pieces of green pepper and some rice in a crispy coating. The flavour is spicy but not too hot which makes a nice change from foods which suggest that spice and chilli are the same thing. All in all, there seems little point in eating these even if they do taste nice. No dip is provided so they are slightly misnamed although a spoonful of chutney does the job

Vegetable Spring Rolls (Asda)

five stars

A very pleasant snack or party food with more vegetable filling that the Lidl offering and a much thinner filo pastry shell. They cook to a good crispness in the oven and are nicely seasoned. They do not contain an excess of fat and combine well with battered onion rings or similar
